Terms of Use
Plain terms for Habit Pause.
Habit Pause is free to use. These terms cover using the app and, once it is on sale, buying Habit Pause Pro through Google Play: what it costs, when you are charged and how to stop.
These terms
Habit Pause (“we”, “us”) publishes the Habit Pause app for Android. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. How the app handles data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Using the app
- Habit Pause is meant for people aged 18 and over.
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Habit Pause on devices you own or control. Please don't copy, resell or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows.
- Use the overlay and Accessibility features only on your own device.
- Habit Pause counts and pauses. It never closes another app for good, and you always decide what happens next.
- Numbers are best effort. Android, phone makers and other apps can affect how usage, reminders and Scroll Counter are measured, so figures may differ a little from other tools.
- Features may change over time. We will tell you in the app before a change takes away something you have already paid for.
Habit Pause Pro
Pro is not on sale yet. When it launches, these are the planned prices. The price Google Play shows you before you confirm, including taxes, is the price you pay.
| Plan | Price | Billed |
|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | Never |
| Pro, first week | ₹4 | Once, for your first 7 days |
| Pro monthly | ₹50 | Every month, after the first 7 days |
| Pro yearly | ₹300 | Every year, after the first 7 days |
Pro adds timer styles (Glass, Minimal, Outline and Glow), full usage history across all days, a reminder interval you choose, and a Pause Gate wait you choose for each app. You choose monthly or yearly when you start. Google Play shows the price in your local currency before you confirm.
In one line: ₹4 for 7 days, then ₹50 a month or ₹300 a year, until you cancel.
The ₹4 first week
- You pay ₹4 when you start. Pro unlocks right away for 7 days.
- If you do nothing, your chosen plan renews automatically when the 7 days end, at its full price.
- Cancel any time during the 7 days in Google Play and you won't be charged the plan price. To be safe, cancel at least a day before.
- Google Play shows your renewal date and price under Payments & subscriptions at any time.
- The ₹4 first week is available once per Google account.
Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically each month or year at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Google Play charges your Play payment method and sends receipts. Your bank or UPI app may also send a notice before each automatic payment, as Indian rules require. If we change a price, Google Play tells you in advance and asks for your agreement where its rules require it. If you don't agree, the subscription ends at the close of the period you have paid for.
How to cancel
- Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Habit Pause and tap Cancel subscription.
You don't need to contact us to cancel. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data does not cancel the subscription.
After you cancel
- Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Then the app returns to Free and keeps working.
- Your data stays on your device and nothing is deleted. Pro-only settings go back to the Free defaults.
Refunds
Google Play processes payments, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policy and the law where you live. Within 48 hours of a purchase you can usually ask Google Play for a refund directly. After that, write to support@habitpause.com and we will help where we can. The ₹4 first-week fee isn't refunded when you cancel, except where the law requires it.
Not medical advice
Habit Pause shows information about your phone use to help you make your own choices. It is not a medical device, it isn't medical or mental-health advice, and it doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. If you are worried about your wellbeing, please talk to a qualified professional.
Liability and law
We work to keep Habit Pause accurate and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law says cannot be waived, including under India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. If we can't, disputes can be heard by the competent courts or consumer commissions in India. If you live elsewhere, you may also be able to bring a claim where you live.
Complaints
Write to our Grievance Officer at support@habitpause.com (subject: Grievance). We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month. In India you can also contact the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or at consumerhelpline.gov.in.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. We will update the effective date, and for changes that matter, such as anything affecting what you pay, we will tell you in the app or through Google Play before they apply.
